A unique incident has come to light from the Vijayanagaram district of Andhra Pradesh, where the headmaster of a government school punished himself after there was no improvement in the children's studies.
In a strange way to teach discipline to students, a head-master of a government school in #AndhraPradesh's Vizianagaram district did sit-ups in front of students as students of the school failed to mend their ways and failed to improve in academics.

Chinta Raman, the headmaster of Penta Zilla Parishad High School in the Bobbili Mandal of Vijayanagaram district, publicly punished himself on stage after being disappointed by the students' poor performance. He said, "We can't scold you, we can't hit you, but still, there is no improvement in your studies. Is the mistake ours or yours? If you believe the mistake is ours, I will punish myself." After saying this, the headmaster bowed down on the floor and then began doing push-ups while holding his ears. The children silently watched this at first, but then, emotionally, they started shouting, "Sir, please don't do it!" However, the headmaster completed nearly 50 push-ups.
The video of this incident spread rapidly on social media and even reached the state government. Nara Lokesh, a minister in the Andhra Pradesh government, called it a positive step and said, "The headmaster has set a great example of self-discipline without punishing anyone.
Is there a serious flaw in the education system? Can such disciplinary methods bring about change? This video not only reflects the headmaster's feelings but also compels us to think about how much reform is needed in the education system.
